The catch is risk. Solana has been operational for roughly five years, its liquidity pools are shallower, and its history of network outages makes large single-tranche investments harder to justify to a board. If a treasury needs to liquidate a large SOL position quickly, the market impact would be proportionally greater than selling the same dollar value of BTC.
